Recognizing the talents and experience of our employees and providing them with opportunities to utilize their skills in their daily tasks is one of the primary ways that Premier Alliances, Inc. provides a fulfilling work environment. Among our many talented employees we count capable mechanics, landscapers, cleaners and more.
One such employee, Claudio Laprada, has worked with a multitude of equipment since joining Premier Alliances more than six years ago. At the Old Post Cemetery on Fort Huachuca, he helps maintain the vases where families leave flowers for their departed loved ones, as well as the cement bases that secure them. He can also operate the mowing equipment among the narrow rows and tight corners of the cemetery. However, it is his extensive experience in masonry that has proven to be the most beneficial to the team.
“That’s his forte. He’s been doing masonry for a lot of years, so he knows how to do things right,” said Michael Rodriguez, Claudio’s supervisor at the Old Post Cemetery on Fort Huachuca.
One of Claudio’s most important duties is ensuring the hundreds of headstones throughout the cemetery stay in proper alignment, a job that requires regular monitoring, especially during seasonal rains. While the monsoon brings an explosion of growth in vegetation that keeps the majority of Premier Alliances’ groundskeeping crew busy, for Claudio, it presents another challenge.
“When it rains, and the ground gets wet and soft, the stones move,” he said.
Claudio said he appreciates the significance that the cemetery has for so many people, and knowing that makes him take his work very seriously.
“I want to keep it as nice looking as possible, both for the public and for the loved ones of those that are here,” he said.
