A prime example of the commitment of Premier Alliances, Inc. to recognizing the potential in its employees, Michael Rodriguez has risen through the ranks thanks to the hard work and dedication to the job that he has demonstrated over the years, culminating in being named supervisor of the Old Post Cemetery on Fort Huachuca at the start of the year.
As a site of supreme importance to the military installation, as well as the hundreds of military families whose loved ones rest there eternally, the daily maintenance of the cemetery is one of the most important aspects of Premier Alliances’ responsibilities on the post, and Mike’s supervision of the cemetery crew has helped to ensure that the condition of the cemetery surpasses expectations.
Speaking of the decision to promote him to cemetery supervisor, Premier Alliances COO and Fort Huachuca Project Manager Jeremy Smith said that Mike exhibited all of the requirements to do the job well.
“Mike had the skills, the wherewithal, the knowledge and the work ethic to accomplish that mission best,” Jeremy said.
Mike has been a part of the Premier Alliances team for more than 10 years total, gaining skills and certifications in the plumbing and water service industries when he worked as a seasonal employee, which serve him well in his current position.
He has also seen the improvements in the way jobs are managed at the highest levels of the organization, with employees provided with the tools and training they need to do the job to the best of their ability.
“The whole time that I’ve been here, it’s never been structured the way it is now. We’ve never had the equipment to be able to do a job as efficiently as we can now. We were doing the plots for cremations by hand, and it would take us half a day, with three guys. Now, we have a jackhammer and other the proper equipment to get the job done faster,” Mike said.
Much of the Premier Alliances crewmembers that work in the cemetery require the most direct guidance from their supervisors and job coaches, an aspect of the job that Mike finds especially rewarding.
“It’s absolutely fulfilling to me, to be able to help these people, to help them reach their goals, to help them get into an apartment, or in any aspect in their lives,” he said. “To know that I’m actually helping someone like that make it in the real world is just outstanding. It’s a great feeling.”
